Mercedes E-Class (W210) Upgraded with TTSPORT Classic 8657S & Evolution ES4 Big Brake Kit
The Mercedes E-Class W210 is a timeless icon. For many, it is a family legacy—a car that defines an era of German engineering. As one owner recently told us, "The car was my dad’s dream. Now I drive it every day... I feel like he’s sitting right beside me."
However, nostalgia can't change physics. The 1990s-era "comfort-focused" braking system simply cannot keep up with modern traffic speeds and aggressive driving. The pedal feels soft, stopping distances are alarmingly long, and the heavy sedan lacks the confidence it deserves. To truly preserve this legacy, it needs modern safety.
We engineered a balanced solution: the Classic 8657S (Front) and Evolution ES4 (Rear) kit. This isn't brute force; it is a smart, bolt-on "restomod" upgrade that brings your W210's performance into the 21st century.
The Balanced 6/4-Piston Upgrade
A heavy sedan requires a comprehensive approach. Upgrading only the front can lead to dangerous "nose dive." Our complete kit ensures the chassis remains flat and stable under heavy braking.
- Front Axle: TTSPORT Classic 8657S 6-Piston Calipers w/ 380mm (15.0") 2-Piece Rotors
- Rear Axle: TTSPORT Evolution ES4 4-Piston Calipers w/ 355mm (14.0") 2-Piece Rotors
- The Kit: Includes custom hub-centric brackets, high-performance street pads, and stainless steel braided lines.
Hardware Deep Dive
Front: Classic 8657S 6-Piston Caliper
The 8657S is a forged 6-piston caliper designed for heavy applications. It features a skeletonized body for weight reduction without sacrificing stiffness. The key benefit for W210 owners is the progressive piston layout: it provides a smooth, compliant pedal for relaxed cruising, but ramps up clamping force immediately when you need to make an emergency stop.
Rear: Evolution ES4 4-Piston Caliper
This is the key to stability. The stock single-piston rear brakes on the W210 are often seized or underpowered. The ES4 forged 4-piston caliper upgrades the rear to match the front's performance. By increasing rear braking torque, we prevent the car's nose from diving, keeping the ride flat and composed—just as a Mercedes should be.
W210 Upgrade FAQ
1. Will this affect the classic Mercedes "ride quality"?
No. The progressive piston design ensures that brake engagement is smooth, not jerky. You retain the luxury feel of the E-Class, but you gain the ability to stop significantly shorter when necessary.
2. What wheel size is required?
This specific setup uses 380mm (Front) and 355mm (Rear) rotors. This requires 19-inch wheels or larger to clear the calipers. If you are running smaller classic wheels (17" or 18"), please contact us for our compact kit options.
3. Do I need to upgrade my master cylinder?
No. We have calculated the total piston area of the 8657S and ES4 to be compatible with the W210's factory hydraulic system. The pedal travel will remain natural, but the firmness and feedback will be greatly improved.
